Due to a broken down train between Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) and Manchester Airport (MIA):

We expect the incident to last until 22:30 and disruption to services is expected until 00:30 on 20/10/2026.

The problem has now been rectified and services are able to run. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.

Alternative Travel Options

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

• Northern between Manchester Airport and Manchester Oxford Road in both directions,
• TransPennine Express between Manchester Airport and Manchester Oxford Road in both direcitons

These arrangements are in place on services until 22:30

Alternatively, customers can use their tickets between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly via Crewe at no extra cost.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Further Information

Pay as you go customers

If all or part of your journey requires a rail replacement bus, please tap in at your origin station and tap out at your destination. If you need to tap out at a gateline after travelling on a rail replacement bus, our station colleagues can assist. You can also add any missing taps using our app or website.

Pay as you go is only valid on Transport for Wales and CrossCountry services, even where we state you can use your original ticket at no extra cost with other train operators or local bus operators. If you travel with another operator or on a local bus service, you must first tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in and buy an alternative ticket before boarding.

If you wish to abandon your journey, please tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in.

Due to a shortage of on train staff between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF).

We expect the incident to last until 07:30 and disruption to services is expected from 05:15 until 07:30.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a shortage of train crew at Llandudno Junction.

This means we are unable to operate some of our train services on the Conwy Valley Line between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog with replacement road transport running instead,

The following train services have been altered as follows:

• 05:15 Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog will be operated with replacement road transport.

• 06:19 Blaenau Ffestiniog to Llandudno will now start at Llandudno Junction at 07:21, with replacement road transport operating in its place from Blaenau Ffestiniog.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options

We have organised buses to run between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog in both directions to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will depart Llandudno Junction at 05:15 and depart Blaenau Ffestiniog at approximately 06:19 provided by Dilwyns.

These arrangements are in place on services until 07:30

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
